The Level 2 Advanced Recreational Running Coach Accreditation course The 'Level 2 Advanced Recreational Running Coach course is designed to train coaches who have moved beyond the beginner level of coaching and who want to improve their skills and knowledge in order to take the runners they coach to a higher level.
The course trains coaches to develop the fundamental technical and strategic skills for runners training for 5km through to marathon events. It develops your coaching skills in communication and instruction, safety, organisation and the management of groups. It also develops your skills and understanding of fundamental drills, movements and training principles for coaching recreational runners.
At the completion of the Level 2 Advanced Recreational Running Coach Accreditation Program coaches will be able to:
1: Display behaviours and standards expected of a coach, and self-evaluate to improve their coaching performance.
2: Develop and review a coaching plan for the season.
3: Mange the safety requirements of coaching.
4: Demonstrate a range of coaching methods and communication techniques.
5: Adapt a coaching program to include and cater for a range of individual needs.
6: Assist runners to develop and improve skills.
7: Develop activities to improve an runner's physical abilities.
8: Recognise structures and movement of the body in order to analyse performance.
-9: Take into account growth and development considerations when coaching a range of runners.
10: Assist runners to use nutritional strategies for sports performance.
11: Use basic psychological training skills to assist runners prepare for sports performance.
12: Advise runners regarding anti-doping issues.
13: Recognise the key components of developing and growing running squads
14: Understand the unique factors of female running participation

-Level 2 Intermediate Recreational Running Coach or Level 2 Advanced Coach - Middle & Long Distance and have held this level of accreditation for 12 months.
Pre Course Work Booklet -due: 7 days prior to the course
Six Week Training Program -due: 7 days prior to the course
Self-Study Modules: within two weeks of completing the course
